A friend in the The Far North sent me an email asking for prayer. She said many cornstalks have no cobs of corn on them this year. They are in a drought.
We need rain.
Much of our country needs rain.
Lord, have mercy on the United States.
Send us a soaking rain, please!
We need rain.
Out of curiosity, I went to www.Biblegateway.com and did a search on the word 'rain'. In the New International Version of the Bible, that word appears 107 times. In The Message version, rain appears 115 times.
This word must be important to appear so many times in God's Word. As I read through some of the verses, I found most of them speaking of rain being withheld until I these two verses in Psalms. How refreshing to read these verses after the verses of doom where rain had been withheld.
Would you consider joining me in crying out to God to have mercy on our country and to send rain? And then please acknowledge His greatness. He is the One to be praised. He is the One that is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Nothing in our lives should be given more love and attention than God Almighty.
Read these Psalms and sing a song of thanksgiving. Praise Him from the mountaintops. Praise Him at your desk at work. Praise Him as you throw yet another load of laundry into the machine. Praise Him at all times. Praise Him in all seasons.
Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!
Sing to God a thanksgiving hymn, play music on your instruments to God, Who fills the sky with clouds, preparing rain for the earth, Then turning the mountains green with grass, feeding both cattle and crows. He's not impressed with horsepower; the size of our muscles means little to him. Those who fear God get God's attention; they can depend on his strength.
Hallelujah! Praise God from heaven, praise him from the mountaintops; Praise him, all you his angels, praise him, all you his warriors, Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, you morning stars; Praise him, high heaven, praise him, heavenly rain clouds; Praise, oh let them praise the name of God— he spoke the word, and there they were!
