Artesan Bread Recipe Correction

This morning I stirred up a new batch of this bread 5-Minute Artesan Bread.  I realized I forgot to add a very important step on my site.

So...if you've copied this recipe down, you need to add this to your copy of the recipe:

After stirring the dough together, let the dough rise on the counter for two hours.  Then it goes into the refrigerator.

Sorry about that!

Enjoy your bread!

Pizza Rolls

Oh what a fun meal these pizza rolls make.  In fact, I usually double the batch and freeze them to reheat at a later time as a snack or as a part of a meal.

Here are the quick and easy steps to make pizza rolls.

1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed.  I have also made a batch of bread dough in the bread machine instead of using frozen bread dough.
1 pound ground beef, browned.  I use a fork to break the meat into small pieces as it is cooking.
Grease your fingers and spread the dough into a 14 x 24-inch rectangle.
Spoon on your favorite pizza sauce.
Sprinkle the cooked meat over the sauce.
Shredded mozzarella is sprinkled on next.  Building this pizza can be quite fun as anything goes!
Roll dough lengthwise...like a jelly roll.
Cut the roll into 1-inch slices.  Place them on a greased cookie sheet.

Let the slices sit for 10 minutes before baking.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 400 degrees.
After baking, cool the rolls and freeze in a 1-gallon bag.  They can be reheated in a 400 degree oven for 10 minutes or in the microwave.

Or if you are like us, serve them with a green salad and fruit for a delicious, light meal.

Pizza Rolls - nummy and awesome!

Scenes of Summer....So Far

 Guess what we've been doing...

We've traveled to two weekend tournaments.  I usually crochet during the games so I'm not so intense.  We love our sunflower seeds and don't love the outhouses!

Recipe for Lotion

Good friend, Lori, gave me a jar of the most wonderful lotion several years ago.  Because she knows me so well, she included the recipe with the jar.  Yup, she made the lotion and she knew I would want to start making it as well.

It isn't hard to make.

It makes great gifts.

And your elbows and heels will be soft in no time.

The ingredients for this wondrous potion are kept in a Rubbermaid tub for me to easily pull out when I need to make a batch.

Let me show you how easy it is to make lotion:

1/4 cup vaseline goes into a mixing bowl
Add to that 1 cup Johnson and Johnson Baby Lotion AND both jars of the Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E cream.
Use an electric mixer to whip everything together.
 It starts looking like frosting...
And you could be tempted to lick the beaters...but don't do it!
I use these Ball canning jars to store the lotion and to give as gifts.  One batch fills 2 1/2 jars.

Try this amazing lotion.  Let me know what you think of it.

Baseball, A Birthday and a Crashed Laptop

Kidlet Three's baseball season is in full swing.  Last weekend the boys participated in their first tournament.  They played three games and won one game and lost the other two but they were good games.  Since they hadn't played any games up to that point, they actually played well together as a team.

My birthday was the same weekend as the baseball tournament.  I celebrated at Culver's after the game by enjoying a turtle sundae!

Mother's Day was celebrated by seeing all three of my Kidlets.  Hugs and love from each of them has filled my Love Tank for a few weeks!

Our laptop crashed.  None of the files were recovered.  Imagine a huge sad face right here.  I'd had the nudge to back up the photos a couple of weeks ago but did I follow the nudge?  No!  So I do have some photos from the past year but I lost photos from the past three months.  I have learned my lesson.

That is the update from the Amazing-Life-We-Live!

Harvey & The Birds

Seagulls will eat anything.

And our friend, Harvey, will feed them anything.

On the beach in Sarasota, the seagulls were happy.

Harvey was there.

With his bag of potato chips and a steady hand.

He fed the chips until the lifeguards came and asked him to stop.

This video makes me giggle.

I'd freak out with the birds so close to me.
